This course provides an overview of victimology to identify, describe, explain and discuss a wide range of victimizations and victimological debates. This course involves the study of crime victims. We will examine the physical, emotional, and financial harm people suffer at the hands of offenders, as well as the history, theories, research, legislation, and policy implications related to the social construction of a crime victim. Services and solutions for victims of crime will also be discussed.
